Your clips belong to you.

Effective and last updated 24 July 2026.

1. Scope and who we are

This Privacy Policy applies to Copia on iPhone, iPad, and Mac, App Store distribution, the Copia website, and support communications. Copia is developed and published by Viacheslav Shkliarov (“we”, “us”, or “our”).

Copia does not include advertising or third-party analytics in the apps. We do not receive or store the contents of your Copia library.

2. Clipboard content and local storage

Copia can read clipboard content when you ask it to save an item or when the app’s clipboard-capture features are active. Clipboard content can include text, links, images, files, and other information that you copied.

Saved clips, boards, app settings, filters, and other library information are stored on your device. Copia uses this information to display, search, organize, preview, paste, export, and share the content you choose to keep.

On Mac, Copia can keep a local clipboard history and record the app an item came from. Local history remains on that Mac unless you move an item into an iCloud board.

3. iCloud sync and shared boards

When iCloud sync is enabled, Copia uses Apple’s iCloud service to store and synchronize your boards and clips across devices signed in to your Apple Account.

  • Your synchronized library is stored in your iCloud account and handled by Apple under its Privacy Policy.
  • When you share a board, its contents become available to the people you invite.
  • You control who has access and can stop sharing at any time.
  • We do not have access to the private or shared data stored in your iCloud account.

4. Sharing, shortcuts, import, and export

When you use Copia from the Share Sheet or a Siri Shortcut, Copia receives only the content you choose to send. It uses that content to save the item to the board you select.

Copia can export your library to a local file and import a previously exported file. Exported files remain under your control. They can contain private clipboard information, so you are responsible for storing and sharing them securely.

5. App permissions

Copia may request limited system access to provide its features:

  • Clipboard access to read or write content when you copy, save, paste, or reuse an item.
  • iCloud access to synchronize and share boards.
  • Notifications to tell you about changes to shared boards.
  • File access when you select files to save, preview, import, or export.
  • Accessibility access on Mac, if you enable features that paste a selected item into another app.

These permissions are used for their stated product features, not for advertising or behavioural tracking.

6. App Store distribution and purchases

Apple provides Copia downloads, purchases, and updates through the App Store. Apple can process your Apple Account, payment, transaction, device, location, and related information under its Privacy Policy and applicable App Store terms.

Copia does not receive your full payment-card details and does not use a separate account or licence-key validation service.

7. Software updates and downloads

Apple distributes Copia and its software updates through the App Store. App Store requests are handled by Apple under its privacy policy and applicable terms.

Cloudflare helps deliver and protect the Copia website. Cloudflare handles relevant network and security information under its Privacy Policy.

8. Website information

The Copia website may use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand aggregate page visits and site performance. It is designed to operate without cookies or cross-site behavioural tracking.

Like other website providers, Cloudflare can process information such as your internet address, browser and device details, requested page, referring page, request time, and security signals to deliver and protect the website.

9. Information you choose to send

When you submit the support and feedback form, we receive the information you include. This can include your email address, device and software details, description of a problem, and attachments.

Please do not send clipboard content, exported libraries, or other private information unless it is necessary to resolve your request.

10. How we use and share information

We use information received outside the apps only as reasonably necessary to:

  • provide support and respond to privacy or legal requests;
  • deliver, update, and protect Copia and the website;
  • diagnose reported faults and improve the product; and
  • meet legal, tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, and security obligations.

We do not sell personal information. Limited information can be shared with Apple, Cloudflare, support and form providers, professional advisers, or public authorities when reasonably necessary for the purposes above or required by law. Those providers handle information under their own terms and privacy policies.

11. Legal bases and international processing

Where UK or European data-protection law applies, relevant legal bases can include performing a contract or taking steps at your request, our legitimate interests in supporting and securing Copia, compliance with legal obligations, and consent where we specifically request it.

Service providers may process information in other countries. Where required, transfers are protected using applicable legal safeguards.

12. Retention and deletion

Your library remains on your devices and in iCloud until you delete it, disable sync, remove the app, or manage it through Apple’s services. Local Mac history and exported files remain until you delete them.

App Store purchase and transaction records are controlled by Apple under its retention practices. Support communications are kept only as long as reasonably needed to respond, maintain support history, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. Website records follow each provider’s retention settings.

13. Security

Copia limits the information sent outside your devices and uses Apple security features, secure local storage, App Store distribution, and HTTPS where applicable. No system is completely secure. You are responsible for securing your devices, Apple Account, exported files, shared boards, and clipboard content.

14. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of personal information we hold about you. You may also withdraw consent and complain to your local data-protection authority.

Because the apps keep most information on your devices or in your iCloud account, we may not possess the clips or boards you are asking about. You can contact Apple directly regarding information controlled by its services.

15. Children

Copia does not require a Copia account and does not knowingly collect personal information directly from children through the apps. If a child sends personal information to support, a parent or guardian can contact us to request its deletion.

16. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when Copia, its distribution, its service providers, or legal requirements change. The current version and effective date will remain available at this URL.

17. Contact
